Where do you live?
Do you own a studio, and if so, how many years have you been teaching sewing?
If you're looking to create a start-up using our program, what questions do you have for others that have already taken that leap?
Hello! Just getting started on my Sewciety journey. I'm Carla and have been teaching classes to adults and children since 1999. Been sewing since I was 6 so I know the importance of what can happen when a child learns sewing skills early in life. By profession and training I am a custom dressmaker/private sewing instsructor. Since 2004 I have been to several countries where i get to teach sewing skills and the most recent is Zambia. Although the afterschool model won't work for me at my current location I still plan to use the system as a Saturday class and summer camp. I love that everything is already planned out and I can offer the beginner workshop to prep kids for the summer camps. Hopefully within the next year a new location will be in the works so I can implement the afterschool program. I have the startup package and will soon get level one to prepare for summer if the summer camp package is not available.
Hello! I'm Elizabeth and I just ordered the Start-Up Package and Level 1. I taught Family and Consumer Science for 10 years (formally Home Economics) and now teach Gifted and Talented. I have taught in the public school system for 32 years and am looking forward to retiring in the next 2 years. A few years ago I taught several middle and high school students sewing and loved it. Wanting to teach sewing again as a retirement gig and can't wait to get started. Let me know what your journey was like when you started out on your Sewciety Kids journey.
