* A serger is not mandatory for completing this project, but it is very helpful. Students with a more advanced skill level/age should be able to operate the serger with guidance. If you do not have a serger, substitute with a zig-zag stitch.

Level 3, Unit 3 Curriculum
Classroom Materials Needed:
Each student needs the following:
• Cork: one piece 12” wide by 11” tall
• 1/3 yard quilting cotton (for bag exterior)
• 1/3 yard quilting cotton (for bag lining)
• 1/3 yard fusible interfacing - we recommend Pellon SF101
• (2) 8” zippers
• (3) 1/2” D-rings or rectangular rings
• (3) 1/2” swivel hooks
• (1) 1/2” adjustable slider
• (3) extra-small rivets
Classroom Tools Needed:
• Acrylic ruler, cutting mat, and rotary cutter (for instructor only)
• Iron
• Frixion pen
• Zipper foot
• Point turner
• Rivet installation tools
• Heavy duty hole punch
• ‘Making Strap Tutorial #1’ Instruction Packet
• 25mm bias tape maker (optional but very helpful)
Classroom Materials Needed:
Each student needs the following:
• 58” wide sweatshirt knit, double knit or lightweight french terry fabric (quantity needed depends on size and length; see size chart on next page)
• Jersey machine needle
• Stretch twin machine needle
