  • Classroom Materials Needed:

    Each student needs the following: 

    •(3) Coordinating quilting cottons:

    -1/2 yd main fabric (for exterior)

    -3/4 yd lining fabric (for pocket & lining)

    -1/2 yd accent fabric (for straps)

    • 1 yd Pellon SF101 fusible interfacing

    • (1) 5/8” magnetic snap or (1) pair of Kam-Snaps

    Classroom Tools Needed: 

    • Acrylic ruler, rotary cutter, cutting mat (for instructor use only) 

    • Frixion pen 

    • Point turner 

    • Large safety pin 

    • Iron 

    “Making Strap Tutorial #1” packet

  • Classroom Materials Needed:

    Each student needs the following: 

    • 44” or 54” wide light-weight woven fabrics with a drape suitable for skirt (quantity needed depends on length desired and size; see size chart on next page) 

    • 3/4” wide elastic (approximately 3/4 yard)

    Classroom Tools Needed: 

    • Acrylic ruler, cutting mat, rotary cutter (for instructor use only) 

    • Iron 

    • Frixion pen 

    • Seam gauge 

    • Large safety pin

    * If you have a serger, you may start to introduce it to older, more mature students that you feel are ready for this step. Use careful judgement in determining whether use of a serger is appropriate for any student.
